Datatone is run by a small team of two founders. From design and development to marketing and customer support, we stay involved in every detail to build a transport app that genuinely serves Hong Kong.

WHY WE STARTED
Why did we create Datatone?
The story is simple. Our daily commute involved several transfers—from bus to MTR, then deciding whether to change to the Tung Chung Line or continue towards Central. The frustrating part was opening several apps and waiting for each one to load.
We wondered why there was no single app covering arrival times for every form of public transport in Hong Kong. So we built one ourselves—KMB, Citybus, minibuses, MTR and Light Rail, all together in one app.
We also wanted to build something meaningful together: turning what we know into a product that genuinely helps people.

What do we do?
Build transport applications
We develop smart mobility products that help people check public transport arrivals quickly and accurately. Beyond presenting data, we use thoughtful features and design to reshape how people interact with transport information.
Make good use of Hong Kong open data
Datatone is built on open data from the Hong Kong Government and transport operators, including KMB, Citybus, MTR and Light Rail, turning public resources into accurate real-time arrival information.
Solve everyday travel problems
Hong Kong moves quickly. Our mission is clear: make every journey more convenient, efficient and comfortable, whether you are commuting to work or checking the next service after school.
